About Us: Windsor Pride Community
We are here to serve and support you.
Incorporated in 2006, WPC is a charitable organization aiming to create a culture of belonging for Windsor-Essex’s 2SLGBTQIA people and their families, allies, employers and educators through education, empowerment and support programs and services.
WPC delivers corporate training, curates events, runs workshops, produces research, hosts community and social and peer support groups, shares information to – and makes referrals for – clients and service providers, and nourishes our community’s mental health and wellness.
Our Three Pillars
-
To educate and increase public awareness and understanding of the diversity of gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation;
To provide information, courses, seminars, and workshops about 2SLGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Two-Spirit, and other diverse identities) communities;
To train educators, administrators, social workers, healthcare providers, and business professionals on the needs of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities;
To operate a community education and resource center offering a library, programs, and drop-in services for 2SLGBTQIA+ people of all ages, with particular focus on youth and seniors.
-
We envision a Windsor-Essex where 2SLGBTQIA+ people thrive with dignity, equity, and full acceptance; where diversity is celebrated as a community strength.
